Children listen to a range of music and are encouraged to use technical vocabularyChildren are taught to play and sing with confidence and control. We provide lessons to develop aural memory and to broaden understanding of different styles of music.

Formative assessment at the end of a lesson is used to inform planning and ensure the National Curriculum objectives are being taught.

•All children have the opportunity to access music lessons with a specialist music teacher and we provide afterschool provision to develop singing.
