Many of our pupils take up this offer, entering assessments and competitions, as well as developing their performance skills through concerts for parents. We have an impressive school choir who perform regularly in the local area and have recorded their own CD!

Arts Award

In 2020/22, children achieved the Arts Award Discover, and are now working towards Arts Award Explore.
For more information about the Arts Awards, click here or visit our Arts Award page here. As part of the process, children
  • Take part in arts activities
  • Find out about artists and arts organisations
  • Develop their communication skills
  • Plan and lead their own arts projects
  • Reflect on their progress as they go along, recording and evidencing their learning.

Castleton Rocks!

The children had an amazing day jamming alongside Matt Tidswell from “Kids that Rock”to songs old and new using boom whackers, pitch pipes and guitars. Matt was very impressed with the children’s musical talents and how quickly they progressed through each stage of a song using open strings and frets.

The Oak class gave a wonderful performance to celebrate their hard work and to finish off the day perfectly.
